HISTORY OF THE Sacred Heart School

The Sacred Heart School began planning in 1961 with the intention of creating a childcare center to support working mothers in the community. This initiative expanded over time to include Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten. In 1962, Father Eliseo Castaño was appointed Superior and worked to secure the current school grounds for the Vincentian Fathers.

In 1963, the first building was inaugurated, and the school year began with the Bernardine-Franciscan Sisters in charge of teaching. Two years later, the school was recognized for its educational quality. In 1965, the convent for the Sisters was built, and due to lack of space, classes were implemented in two shifts.

In 1971, Sagrado Corazón de Jesús and El Pilar schools temporarily merged, dividing their educational levels. After a few years, El Pilar closed, and Sagrado Corazón continued independently, expanding to include the eighth grade and later the ninth.

Currently, the school has modern educational facilities and promotes a comprehensive education based on Christian values, with a missionary focus inspired by Saint Vincent de Paul and service to the most needy.
